13 campgrounds under a certified dark sky in California
The National Park Service runs all of them. The list is thickest in Joshua Tree National Park. They sit mostly in the southeast of the state.
A campground is listed when it sits inside a certified National Park Service unit, within ten miles of an International Dark Sky park, reserve or sanctuary, or within five miles of a certified community. Certification is DarkSky International’s and the join is ours.
